This is Shimano's standard square taper bottom bracket set-up. It uses a square tapered heat-treated steel spindle and the arms 'wedge' against it when tightened onto the spindle. The UN52 is a tough workhorse, but with it's small clamping surface area and simple square shape it isn't up to the sort of big hits that trials will give it. It weights 304g, and is a real cheap bottom bracket that would be good for beginners that are new to the trials-in sport. Price £12.99. |
